OMFG

Coldplay was AMAZING.
Mercury Rev and Decoder Ring was pretty awesome too, and Decoder Ring could make it big if they had lyrics... but Coldplay. WOW.
Here is a blow by blow account.
They started with Life in Technicolor, and it was awesome. Then they went into Violet Hill with awesome lights, the track they released for free last year and it sounded so awesome live. Afterwards, they played their worldwide famous song, Clocks with flashing red lights. And the sing along to that was AMAZING.
Then they played In My Place, Yellow (where they dropped awesome yellow balloons filled with yellow confetti). Then they played Cemetries of London, Chinese Sleep Chant, and 42. Then Fix You, Strawberry Swing (was the best!) And techno versions of God Put A Smile Upon Your Face and Talk.
Then Guy and Johnny got a break when Will Champion and Chris Martin sang The Hardest Part with Chris on the B Stage. Then Chris played Postcards From Far Away, on the piano by himself.
Next was Viva La Vida which was MINDBLOWING. Everyone sang along, and the section where we sat, everyone stood up and clapped along. By far that was the best voluntary audience partcipation I have ever seen. If only school assemblies were like that...
Then they played Lost! (yes the exclamation point is needed). Then they moved to the back of Rod Laver to give the people in the back a chance to be in the front, and that was awesome, but seeing as I'm short I could only see from the balls. OH I havent said anything about the balls yet, but the balls are AWESOME. They are a projecting system of its own class, they were awesome. At the back they played Speed Of Sound, Green Eyes, and Will sang Death Will Never Conquer which barely anyone knew the words to, and Chris played harmonica.
They disappeared for a while and while they went, the Thin White Duke Remix of Viva La Vida was played.
They came back and played Politik. And when Lovers in Japan was being played, they released paper butterflies (which we went down to the floor to collect at the end of the show, a cup full each). Then they played Death And All His Friends. Unfortunately, then they went away. :(
Once again, the exuberant section I was in started the encore call by singing that 'wooah' part in Viva La Vida, and they came out in awesome jackets, Guys jacket was red.
They played The Scientist, Life in Technicolor ii and ended with a recording of The Escapist.
It. was. fantastic.
Mindblowing.
Awesome.
Genius.
Epic.
Unbelievable.
Oh words cannot describe how awesome it was.
So worth the $140. I'd pay it anyday! But next time, mental note to self, get General Admission (standing tickets), at least then we wouldnt have to go against the flow of the crowd to get butterflies!!
